Family pets stabbed to death, BC man faces 9 cruelty charges
RICHMOND, BC A former Richmond, BC man now believed living in Saskatchewan has been charged with nine counts of animal cruelty in what a SPCA officials are calling one of the most disturbing cases they’ve encountered in recent memory in BC
Kendall Goheen is accused of stabbing and killing three pets he co-owned with his ex-wife in October.
SPCA spokeswoman Lorie Chortyk says the family’s 70-pound boxer, Maza, and two cats, Pepper and Liston, suffered multiple stab wounds and trauma before being placed in a freezer in Goheen’s home.
She says when SPCA officers arrived at the scene Goheen refused to speak to them but left the bodies of the pets in a plastic container outside his house.
Chortyk says evidence from the necropsy suggests that the animals were killed in an extremely brutal manner.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Goheen.
